Starting an Atienza Kali Training Group
So you want to start training in Atienza Kali but don't know how to get started.
Most people we talk to say that the nearest certified Atienza Kali instructor is too far away from them
.
Atienza Kali has a solution for those of you who want to train but are not close enough to public class or certified instructor.
Start an official Atienza Kali Training Group ( AKTG ) and have the instructors come to you.
Get a group of your training partners together and start a certified Atienza Kali training group.
This could be your hard core group that you regularly train with in the martial arts, your black belt club
in your school or any group that has a common interest in Atienza kali blade work.
All you have to do is fly certified Atienza Kali instructors to your training location to start your group training in Atienza Kali.
The Atienza Kali blade curriculum; covered in these training groups are the same material covered in the Atienza Kali public classes.
Atienza Kali single long blade (15 blade) and Atienza Kali hand assistor (small knife) are covered in this curriculum.

The Atienza Kali Hand Assistor introduces the student to the common EDC (everyday carry blade). The manipulation of
the knife in blade on blade exchanges is one of the goals. One of the main focuses in the hand assistor component is to
control your opponents’ blade while you are unarmed. Control is achieved long enough so you can draw your blade and
finish the engagement.
Both of these components are trained within Atienza Kali mass attack exercises to further develop the students’ technique
and footwork in a multiple opponent situations.
